Other decades making a come back?

Lately I've been really into retro-ish clothes. I'm really loving the 80's especially. But pretty much anything from another era has been an interest to me. This mornig me and my dad went to the post office to apply for passports. Yeah, I know it's gonna be next to impossible to go to Italy now, but wish me luck. Anyways, I wore a black and white striped spaghetti strap summer dress over a vintage-y Rolling Stones T-shirt with red patent flats. It was really cute if I have to say. What do you guys think about the new trends bringing back the old era's?

Love it?

What do you think of this outfit? I know the pics are a little bit messed up(randomly positioned, different sizes). Forgive me. I was checking out http://www.yoox.com and came across these peices plus many, many more. I absolutely LOVE the dress! And the Cavalli sunglasses! They're very Jackie O. I thought the boots were cute too, and figured this outfit might possibly work. You think it would? Or is the dress maybe too light of a fabric?

Summer Trends

This summer, I am seeing several new trends. Graphics, jewel tones, mini dresses, hot pants, and light and airy peices. As some designers reinvent their looks, few dare to stay true to their roots, and not try to compete with the looks of newer designers.

ANTM Infamous Moments

Anyone remember Kim? The lesbian from America's Next Top Model Season 5? I just came across this picture and couldn't help but laugh my ass off. Remember this shoot? The girls had to play girls who had memorable moments from previous seasons. Dionne had to portray the infamous kiss in the limo. She was nervous at first but eventually warmed up to Kim. How could you not? What are your favorite unforgettable moments from ANTM?

Valentino returns home to Rome

World renown fashion designer Valentino Garavani is coming back home to Rome to unveil his made-to-order Autumn/Winter 2007-08 collection. The show will be on July 7 and the day before will be the opening of the 300 enblamatic Valentino garments at the Ara Pacis museum, "Valentino in Rome: 45 Years of Style". After the show there will be a private gala. Super models Elle MacPhereson and Claudia Schiffer will be in attendance, as well as actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Meryl Streep.

"Bitten" by celebrity desegners?

Its seems like lately every celebrity and their mother (or actually sister) is launching a new clothing line. I can't help but wonder when I look at some of the pieces whether the celebs are "becoming" designers to boost their own fame, or because it's actually a passion. SJP's line Bitten seems to be doing pretty well so far. Considering the low prices, the range of sizes, and being sold at Steve & Barry's which is mostly known for selling college apparel at low prices. I was a little skeptical when I first learned she was launching a line. Sarah Jessica Parker isn't one of my favorite celebrities, but I think she did a fantastic job. I haven't bought anything from the line yet, but my cousin did last week. She got the cutest camo skirt for less than 9 dollars. That's right, 9 dollars. What do you think about celebrities-turned-fashion designers?

Vitamin Water

This isn't exactly fashion, but I thought it was fun! I've been drinking this stuff for about a year now. I am a faithful drinker. These are by far the best flavored waters I have EVER tasted!

This stuff is so good the celebs are even endorsing it! 50 cent and Kelly Clarkson. Who's next?

My favorite thing about htese waters other than the flavor is the fun explanation about that particular flavor on each bottle. Go buy one, read it, try it, and love it!

Have you jumped on the VitaminWater trend yet? What's your favorite flavor?

Elyse Sewell

Any America's Next Top Model watchers remember this girl? Try to think from way back when circa Cycle 1. Is it just me, or does this beauty remind you of 60's Icon Twiggy? Just dye her blonde and you've got a legendary woman here in the flesh. Just wondered if anyone saw the same resemblance. Who are you favorite Icons?

Too dedicated?

Remember that best friend of mine that I am moving to Miami with in a year? Well she is the same one with whom I will be going to Italy to visit in a few weeks. We are going to call her BFF so as not to give away her identity. Anyways, she and I have been wanting to get something to not only symbolize our friendship, but also our love for fashion. We figure this tattoo is perfect! How else can you say you love clothes and fashion than with a hanger permanently inked onto your neck? I might be just a little skeptical.. It's cute right? What do you think? Should I do it? Do you have any tattoos that mean something special to you?

Meet Danae

Hi! My name is Danae, you've probably guessed it by now, but I LOVE fashion. It's pretty much my life. I'm hoping this blog takes off and people actually want to listen to my opinion about different things in the fashion industry. I plan to have a career in the business. I am currently a senior in high school (well I will be in August). When I graduate, my best friend and I are planning on moving to Miami to study Fashion Merchandising at Miami International Universtiy of Art and Design. Anyways, I wasn't sure how I wanted to start this blog. I wanted to start with a BANG! So I thought I could talk about shoes. I know, what girl doesn't love shoes? As a matter of fact, what human being doesn't like shoes? They offer so many things; protection, comfort, and most importantly fashion. My favorite designers: Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik The shoes are amazing! I love both of these designers like crazy. What are your favorite shoe designers?

Italy

I'm going to amazing Italy to visit BFF within the next three weeks. I'm crazy stressed. I still need a passport, a ticket, and I need to go shopping. Like I've said before, I can't wear American clothes in a country wear everyone is so Italian chic.
But I am i
nsanely excited, can we say International Fashion Capital? Yes, I believe we wil be visiting not only Milan, but also the fabulous Paris, France as well!
I would like to leave right now! but unfotunately, that is not an option.
Has anyone been to either of these stunning cities? Any recommendations as to where I should go?
